OWNING A VETERAN-OWNED SMALL BUSINESS

Veterans have the character, discipline, and skills needed to succeed as small business owners and entrepreneurs. Wondering what it takes and how you can prepare? Enroll in Boots to Business Reboot.

ABOUT REBOOT

Boots to Business Reboot is a no-cost one-day training program that provides participants an overview of business ownership, an outline and knowledge of the components of a business plan, a practical exercise in opportunity recognition, and an introduction to available public and private resources.

The Reboot Introduction to Entrepreneurship course is open to Veterans of all eras, service members (including National Guard and Reserves) and their spouses. This course is instructed by skilled business advisors from the South Carolina Small Business Development Center network, many of whom are military veteran business owners themselves.

After completion of the Reboot program, attendees may also enroll in an eight-week online Foundations of Entrepreneurship course instructed by a consortium of professors and practitioners led by the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University.

The Reboot class schedule is coordinated through National Guard Armories throughout South Carolina. For information on the next Reboot class time and location, contact your nearest SBDC or the SBA Boots to Business website.

For more information or to register, you may also call 803-777-1020.

BOOTS TO BUSINESS CLASS AND SCHEDULE

The Boots to Business class is the same information provided through the Reboot program. The primary difference is that Boots to Business is only available to active duty military personnel who are preparing to transition out of the military and the material is provided over a two day period by SC SBDC and SBA personnel. All Boots to Business classes are conducted on military installations and not open to the general public. Dates and locations subject to change. Registration should be handled through local TAP program facilitators or the SBA Boots to Business website.
